Perfect Hot Chocolate

'Tis the season for hot drinks. And what is second-best to coffee?? Chocolate! Hot chocolate on a wintery day is one of my favorite things. But, I've found that the packaged "add hot water" mixes that are typically used are too watery & weak. So, I've been on the search for the perfect hot chocolate recipe and found a great one here. I modified it a bit, & the finished product is AMAZING! Rich, creamy, sweet, & perfect. Ideal for the holidays!

Ingredients & Directions:
{serves 2}
{Pour 2 1/2 cups milk {I used soymilk, prefer the light vanilla-flavored} into a saucepan}
{Add 4 tablespoons white sugar}

{3 tablespoons of cocoa powder}

{I used the unsweetened Trader Joe's brand in a cute little container}

{Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt...to bring out the flavor}

{Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pinch ground cinnamon
1 pinch cayenne pepper
(yes, sounds odd but brings out flavor wonderfully)}

{Allow to simmer,
and
whisk until frothy}

{Serve immeditely}

Can be served as a dessert, as it's fairly rich.
{I also added mini marshmallows to mine}

mmhmmmm!
Enjoy fireside.
Or better, bon-fireside (is that a word?)

PS- On a sidenote, how lovely is this little gem of a candle?!
