sweet sponsor: Quite the Blog
Sharing sponsors with you, my dear readers, is something special to me. To me, it's not simply sharing bloggers who choose to advertise here on my little space on the Internet.... it's more than that. The ladies who run the shops and blogs that I share with you are women who inspire me. Who use their online platforms to do good and set a positive example for others. I truly love sharing my sweet sponsors with you because each and every sponsor is a person who has truly, honestly touched my heart and life with their story, their encouragements, even simply their photos or words.
And so, the amazing girl I am sharing with you today is someone special to me. Her blog is unique and beautiful, and I am loving getting to know her through her blog. She is someone I would love to sit down and meet for coffee (I hope we get to do that in person some day!) As she shared in the following interview, her blog is joyful. Her posts always uplift my heart and make me smile. So, my friends - this is why I'm excited to share her with you today.
Friends, meet Morgan - writer at Quite the Blog!

// Tell us all about your encouraging blog and why you chose the
name??
Quite the Blog is far from being the first blog I
ever started, as I've been a blogger on and off since high school. However, for
the first time, I began to hone in on the fact that the internet is quite a
powerful machine that I should be using more for connecting with the world.
And so I did. I decided I would sit down and take
the time and connect with the world.
I had no idea what to call it at first, so I
tried about fifty random options on a domain name site, but everything I liked
taken. The world "quite," which means absolutely; completely,
suddenly just popped into my head. I didn't know why, but it just seemed to fit.
And when I discovered that "quitetheblog.com" was an available
domain name, I was delighted.
As a naturally introverted person, I decided that
I needed to step out of my habitual bookworm mode and talk about more
light-hearted, happy things.
From my first post, I decided that Quite the Blog
would be a place that was just absolutely, completely about things that brought
me joy. Foremost, my belief in Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior
brings me the most joy. Secondly, my husband, and my family, and then, all of
the other random things I talk about on the blog: clothes, coffee, music,
travel, books, clothes, coffee…
Overall, Quite the Blog is quite simply a place
that I hope is joyful. And not just for me, but for anyone else that happens to
stumble across what God has been doing in my life!

// What is the Lord teaching you right now?
Patience!
I'm a part of a women's Bible study in Atlanta called "Worth" and
we've been studying all of the women in the Bible, and during this study I've
been reminded of how many of us women (even back then) try to jump the gun on
God instead of just waiting on what He has planned for us. In the Bible study,
we've been looking at how important it is to wait on the Lord, but how often we
just…well, don't want to. It's funny, because I get rather impatient as I try
to learn to be more patient, so I guess God is still working with me in this
area!
Psalm
130:5 has been on my heart lately:
"I
wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope." (NIV)

// If your life was made into a movie,
which actress would you choose to
portray you and why?
Zoe
Saldana! Hands down. Why? Because she's pretty much an improved version of me!
I kid, I kid. But really, I love the passion in her acting, and from what I've
seen in her interviews and such, she just seems like a wonderful person in
addition to being an exceptionally talented actress.

// If you were stranded on a deserted island and you could only have 3 items,
what would you bring??
I'd
bring a bow and arrow (yea, I pretty much taught Katniss everything she knows),
a solar-powered flashlight (I do not do well with darkness. I still sleep with
a nightlight), and last, but most certainly not least, a motorized boat equipped
with CB Radio PA capability and GPS navigation (is that even allowed in this
scenario? I hope so!).

// What is your favorite thing about blogging?
What is one tip you can share to
help other bloggers?
Favorite
thing about blogging?
Being
able to stalk random people's lives.
I'm
joking! Okay, only half joking.
But
seriously, I'm the kind of girl who will sit in a coffee shop and make up
stories in my head of random strangers sitting around me. I do this because I
am truly fascinated with the peoples' stories. Like one of my favorite lines in
the book series "Matched" by Ally Condie (a book like Hunger Games in
the way that I'm probably too old to be reading it), I often just
"wonder." And for me, blogging is an outlet for me to wonder…and
wonder…and wonder, until I realize it's 2 a.m, my husband is sleep beside me,
and I've been clicking and clicking for hours!
I
suppose what I am trying to say is, my favorite thing about blogging is getting
to read and connect with the stories of people from all around the world. They
are stories that I would have never ever been able to engage in had it not been
for the internet. I really do enjoy that. Blogging takes just simply
"wondering" about the stories of other people that I don't know and
turns into a readable reality.
…and
I mean that in the least creepy-sounding way possible.
In
terms of a tip for other bloggers out there, I could sum up any advice I may
have to: just connect, connect, connect!
On my
past blogs, I just sort of wrote blog posts and hoped that people would somehow
see them. I might put it on Facebook and tell some relatives about it, but that
was it.
Now,
I realize more than ever that blogging is less like a broadcast to the world
about what I have to say, but more like my small piece in a never ending
conversation between me and rest of the world.
So
get out there and meet other bloggers! Don't worry about views, comment counts,
or followers…just connect with people who you find interesting and have things
in common with and make some friends! Just be diligent in this and the rest
will come in due season!
Which
reminds me of my life verse, Galatians 6:9:
"And
let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we
do not lose heart." (NKJV)
