floral & frayed
Happy Sunday to you all! I hope you are enjoying fireside-sitting, football-watching, pre-Thanksgiving happies :)
Popping in to share one of my favorite bloggers with you. She is truly in my top reads. And she is on my sidebar this month! And most importantly, she is one of my precious friends. We were roommates at Influence Conference last month!
She is thoughtful and kind. Earlier this week, she sent me this package of lovelies.. just because.
I just love her so much and I'm excited for you to get to know her too.
1 // Tell us all about your gorgeous blog and why you chose the name. I started my blog about a year and a half ago when I decided to delete my Facebook (I have since made a new account). It was initially intended to keep my friends and family up to date but I found that it quickly became a place to share my heart, things that inspired me, and my personal style. I never knew that I would love blogging so much, and never knew that the blogging community was so warm and welcoming. I love investing my time into my blog and into the relationships that have developed from it (here's looking at you Erin!).

Meet Margaret of Floral and Frayed!
I actually didn't come up with my blog name on my own. One of my good friends, who is a whiz at coming up with fun names, tossed it out and I went with it. My blog isn't very "floral" or "frayed" but I do think it represents my life to a certain extent. I'm just a girl who is trying to figure out life, which sometimes leaves me feeling a little frayed and frazzled! I love all things vintage and thrifted, and I think "floral" describes that perfectly.
2 // What is the Lord teaching you right now? Oh wow, the Lord has been teaching me so much. Lately He's been teaching me so much about grace and thankfulness. I think I'm learning that I don't have to do it all. My personality is that of a "do-it-all", so it's easy for me to get caught up in getting everything done and forget friendships and intentional moments. The Lord has been teaching me to rest in those moments and be thankful for the every day. I've been reading the book One Thousand Gifts (http://www.floralandfrayed.com/search/label/One%20Thousand%20Gifts) and I'm learning to redefine what it means to be truly thankful and what that looks like.
3 // If there was a movie made about your life, which actress would you choose to portray you and why? Zooey Deschanel. I am in love with her character on New Girl. I love how quirky and unique she is. It seems like she has a strong sense for what is right, and values her relationships. I think she's such a classic beauty and I'm always drawn to her style. Plus, she blogs! I adore her blog Hello Giggles and find myself browsing it frequently. Oh AND in my movie, I would pretend that I can sing and I would want her voice. Are those enough reasons? ;)
4 // If you could only use one beauty product a day, what is your go-to item? Well I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to use only ONE beauty item, but if I had to I would say lipstick. I love the way lipstick has the ability to brighten up a face, and despite what anyone says I truly believe everyone can pull off wearing lipstick! I personally like to rock a bright red. :)
5 // Share one tip of advice you've learned about blogging & would like other bloggers to know! One of the biggest pieces of advice I could give is to not get caught up in the numbers. I think sometimes it's really easy to focus too much on growing your blog and losing track of all your intentional readers. I would rather stick to a smaller following and invest in building authentic relationships. To me that's what blogging is about, and I've already met so many wonderful women because of it. I read every one of your comments and do my very best to reply back to you. I read your blogs. I love getting your emails. I want to build a community, not just a website.
