Even Here
“Even here in the fear
Even here. In the dark, In the pain
When your heart is broken and your dreams fall apart. When you’re fighting so hard.
How long can I go?
Even here you are held
Even here you are safe
Even here in the fear
You will sing, you will dream
Free to spread your wings
Even here.”
I wrote these words earlier this year and felt led to share them tonight, again, for someone who needs to be reminded. Birthed out of a painful season I walked through, and learned that *even there*, I was held, safe, loved, worthy, covered. Even in the thick of the darkest night, He is good, He is here, He sees and hears and knows. When we do not understand. Not just when all the questions are answered and the light shines at the end of the tunnel. But there, in the unknowns, in the waiting, in the grief, in the uncertainty. Just as much as in the light and the healing. In the sweet places in the journey and in the bitter, this is true: you are held, you are safe. Even here.
